This photo was taken at Shenzhen Bay Culture Plaza. That day, I was drawn to the continuous curved walls and irregular window openings in the space. Light passed through the interior of the building, making the whole space feel like a tunnel leading to somewhere unknown. I stopped at a lower position and pressed the shutter, wanting to capture this quiet, unfamiliar, and somewhat surreal feeling. After shooting, due to an erroneous operation, I accidentally opened the camera back. It wasn't until the film was developed that I realized this frame had received extra exposure, and the originally deep golden yellow had been tinged into a cool blue space. At first I thought this was a “failed” photo, but the longer I looked at it, the more I came to like this accident—the real Shenzhen Bay Culture Plaza had been turned into a space that doesn't exist by a chance light leak. Sometimes, the charm of film comes precisely from mistakes that cannot be repeated and cannot be foreseen.
