Slanted light shone onto the floor from a large cut-out in the building's wall. Using the shape of the light as a frame, I waited for the moment when someone would pass through it. By rendering the surroundings and the person's form as black silhouettes, the image is color yet looks like black-and-white. I was able to express at once the hope of a person heading toward the light and the loneliness of people in a cold, inorganic city.
Light slanted in through a large cut-out in the building's wall, spilling onto the ground. Using the shape of the light as a frame, I quietly waited for the moment when someone would pass through it. Because both the surroundings and the person were pressed into silhouettes, the image is color yet has the texture of a black-and-white photograph. I hoped to express at once the hope of a person moving toward the light and the loneliness of people in a cold city.
